Ashiana Sheffield is a proud supporter of International Women’s Day (IWD) 8th March 2021, a globally recognised and widely celebrated day – highlighting the achievements of influential and inspiring women. This campaign aims to champion a society where equality for all is at the forefront of everything we do.
The IWD 2021 Campaign pays particular attention to challenging instances of inequality, to call out on bias in life and the workplace and to raise objections on typical stereotypes. This will help us to build a world were we are inclusive and supportive of one and other. This years message #ChooseToChallenge promotes these behaviours on a wider scale throughout all social media platforms.
Ashiana Sheffield hosted a live online event on Monday 8th March 2021 at 12pm – 3pm, to celebrate IWD 2021 and the achievements of the women that we support, and those that support us. Please see below for more information.
Ashiana also used the opportunity to re-launch and raise awareness of our current #WeAreHereForYou campaign, which aims to support female abuse victims all over the UK to find safety and be free from fear and harm.
Event: Ashiana & International Women’s Day 2021 #ChooseToChallenge Date: 8th March 2021 Time: 12pm – 3pm Location: Webinar – Zoom Cost: Free
Ashiana's IWD 2021 event was a successfully informative and rewarding event, throughout the day, Ashiana's women service users had the opportunity to find out more about our #WeAreHereForYou campaign, presented by Ashiana Sheffield CEO, Nicola Lambe. As well as, IWD's history and how women's rights have evolved over the years, presented by Ashiana Operations and Development Manager, Charlotte Hudson.
Also, our special speaker, Ashiana Sheffield Vice Chair, Freda Cotterell, presented a segment on Health and Wellbeing and how the women we support; service users and staff members, can look after their mental and physical health during the current lockdown period. This provided a space for service users to break out into groups via breakout rooms and discuss how they are looking after their health and pick up extra tips and tricks for at home activities.
In addition to this, our event had a segment dedicated to 'Share A Story', were both the women service users and staff members shared their unique, touching and inspiring stories with everyone. The event closed off with a final speech by Nicola Lambe, sharing special gifts for all of our attendees joining us to mark and celebrate IWD 2021.
We want to say a big thank you to all the women that joined us for our Ashiana & IWD 2021 event.
